Busy first week in the Labour Party

LabourPartyIrelandLogoMy first official role as Co-Chair of the the Labour Party’s Environment and Sustainability policy group was to attend the Irish Environment Network’s information day for political parties.   Held last Tuesday, the meeting gave each NGO affialiated to the IEN an opportunity to give a short and sharp presentation on their work and campaigns.   Great idea as it also gave politicians and environmental activists the opportunity to meet and chat over tea and sandwiches.

Irish Environmental NetwordLast night attended the Labour Party’s Dublin North Central AGM, held in the Beaumont Artane Recreation Centre, with Joan Burton TD as guest speaker.

And all week local Labour Party members, Aodhán Ó Ríordáin and I have been busy organising and publicising our first public meeting together –  ‘Dublin Bay: what next?’ with guest speaker Cllr. Dermot Lacey, who has just taken over from me as Chair of the Dublin Bay Task Force.
