About Bronwen

A political communications professional, Bronwen Maher is responsible for campaigns, communications and constituency management for Labour Party MEP, Nessa Childers MEP.

Bronwen has been involved in politics for over twenty years, and was a prominent member of the Irish Green Party (1989-2009), and represented the Clontarf ward on Dublin City Council between the years 2004 and 2009.  The sole Green Party representative on the council, Bronwen was elected Deputy Lord Mayor of Dublin in June 2005, elected Chairman of the Dublin Regional Authority 2007–2008, and elected Chair of the Dublin Bay Task Force 2008-2009.

Bronwen also specialises in facilitation and project management and prior to her role as Dublin City Councillor, she pursued a career mainly with advocacy and human rights organisations, and as a self employed communications consultant (2000-2003).   Her work history also includes five years (1994 to 1999) as constituency manager for former MEP Patricia McKenna,  and campaign manager for two European Election campaigns.
